a good morning

It really was a good morning.  I had such a wonderful weekend ice skating and playing around Boston and then today I found out all my classes are cancelled...what are the odds?  The sun is actually shining into our apartment, and not only did my boyfriend bring home this adorable heart candle with flowers last night, but he learned how to start the coffee machine.  Hey, it's the little things and I'm soaking it up.  Do you remember the ikea bookshelf in the background, from my previous organization project?  For the few that are wondering, I ended up painting it a light gray and moving it towards the window for now.  It was too matchy matchy near the desk.  All the extra storage items found a place on an old Container Store bookshelf:

This is right behind our bedroom door and as you can tell there are pipes and wires, etc.  Nothing exciting, but all the crafting supplies are here and a stack of magazines that need to be filed.  I added the flowers and candle, but to keep it real, they are never there!

anyway,  hoping to have a few love posts up this week...until then, I'm going to make a serious to do list {which better involve the school books on the right of my desk} in my new notebook with a big cup of coffee.

happy monday!

light glass

I think the glass pendant in this breakfast nook is fabulous:

and recently found this one at Pottery Barn that is pretty similar:

I could see a few of these being used in many different spaces.

Aren't they fun?

Happy Friday!

I believe that everything in life should be beautiful and inspirational. I've had this idea for a few years now and so I've started Pretty Chic SF. Having a graphic design background, my inspiration comes from textiles, home decor, magazine tears and designing for Pottery Barn.
Growing up in the California sunshine and at the beach, my style is drawn from a lifestyle I love. My goal is to create beautiful personal accessories that are functional, fun and affordable. My weekly planners and notebooks are a sophisticated and fun way to organize your busy schedule and are the perfect size to fit in your purse.
Perfect for savvy blackberry and iphone users, like myself, who still appreciate the written word. With seven unique planner and twelve notebook styles, Pretty Chic’s Weekly Planners and Notebooks are a pretty chic way to organize your year! And what is next for me.... Pretty Chic wristlet purses!
I loved hearing about her inspiration and where she's taking her line next.  I can't wait to see her wristlet purses! Very exciting!

Day 2 of SF Showcase Past

Another designer of SF Showcase's past...Palmer Weiss, who participated in last year's showcase and is one of my favorites.  Playful and stylish, I enjoy looking at all the different elements in her spaces. These colorful rooms brightened up a snowy day here in Boston, I know a lot of these have been around in the blogging world, but hopefully they inspire again today.

The Past of The San Francisco Decorator Showcase

The San Francisco Decorator Showcase takes place every year and brings the work of the region's top interior and landscape designers together to help raise money for San Francisco University High School.  This year's date is still TBA, but if you're in the area I think it would be such an exciting event.  I haven't been able to make it in the past, but hopefully next year I will finally get there!  The showcase is probably not new news to everyone, nor are these spaces, but hopefully it's a little reminder of the event.

This is the work of the very talented Tish Key, who has been a designer at several of the showcases.  This home is from the Showcase in 2007:

This space is also by Tish Key from the 2006 Showcase:

Absolutely gorgeous spaces!  There are so many wonderful elements to point out, but I'm going to let you decide your favorites.

Also, I am so jealous if you get to go this year!  Anyone from the area going?  Or have you been before?
