favorite wellies & a question...

Yesterday morning in Boston there was a crazy rain storm..wind going every which way and sideways rain. On days like that, I wouldn't be able to make it to class or work without my favorite Hunter boots:

I had the hardest time picking out what color I wanted and opted for green as the most basic choice last year when I purchased them. But I saw this color {seen below} on a girl yesterday and fell in love with it. I'm always seeing new colors on people....there are too many choices!

Kinda makes me want another pair...

Surprisingly they keep your tootsies pretty warm and really dry in the snow. I'm wondering if purchasing these welly socks actually makes them any warmer?

Has anyone out there tried the welly socks?
And do they actually keep your feet super warm?

Thoughts on: Food on Christmas Trees

I have never seen marshmallows on a tree, but it looks kinda fun.

I think the bigger fruit would be difficult to keep fresh? No?

What about popcorn garland?

I think the berries spice it up a little...

Or alone

a few gingerbread houses

candy on the tree...

If I had more time this year... I might have tried the cranberry garland! But finals are coming up and I don't think it's going to happen!

Is anyone decorating their tree this year with a few treats?

Inspiration to Upcycle for the Holidays

While reading a hard copy of this article {involving bloggers} in The Boston Globe today, I became inspired to take a second look at wrapping gifts with old newspapers.

I love the idea of upcycling newspapers hanging around the house into gift wrap.

Here is the article I read...turned to gift wrap within seconds {maybe should have tied the bow before the wine with company last night}:

A bit more festive:

Wrapping gifts in newspaper can be cheap and beautiful...

This is a great way to stay green and wrap a gift in a pinch!

Does anyone have any green tips on wrapping gifts? Or currently ever use newspaper?

p.s. today by midnight is the last day to enter the giveaway!

december

It's officially December...time for Christmas decorations!
Our tree made it into our tiny apartment!

and some small decorations followed:

decided to decorate around the gorgeous roses my boyfriend brought home...

and a few cranberries thrown in the mix:

and what seems to be a lot of mercury glass:

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

So happy it's December, huge fan of Christmas!!!

Has anyone else started putting out their Christmas Decorations?
